In the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, nestled among the dense forests and winding rivers, lay an old, abandoned asylum known as Ravenwood Manor. Legend had it that the souls of the forgotten still lingered within its decaying walls, their anguished whispers echoing through the corridors.

On a moonless night, a group of adventurous teenagers decided to explore the infamous asylum, drawn by the allure of its dark history. Sarah, the bravest of the group, led the way with a flashlight in hand, while the others followed hesitantly behind.

As they entered the asylum, a chill swept through the air, causing goosebumps to rise on their skin. The corridors were cloaked in darkness, broken only by the dim beam of Sarah's flashlight. The sound of their footsteps echoed eerily, mingling with the distant howl of the wind outside.

They ventured deeper into the asylum, their hearts pounding with excitement and fear. Shadows danced on the walls, playing tricks on their minds, and strange noises echoed from unseen corners. Despite their growing unease, they pressed on, determined to uncover the asylum's secrets.

Suddenly, they stumbled upon a door that seemed to beckon them with an otherworldly allure. Sarah hesitated for a moment, her instincts warning her to turn back, but curiosity got the better of her. With trembling hands, she pushed open the door, revealing a room shrouded in darkness.

As they entered the room, they were met with a chilling sight. The walls were adorned with faded portraits of the asylum's former patients, their eyes hollow and filled with sorrow. In the center of the room stood an old phonograph, its needle scratching against a dusty record.

Without warning, the phonograph crackled to life, emitting a haunting melody that sent shivers down their spines. The air grew thick with tension as the room filled with the sound of ghostly whispers, each one more desperate than the last.

In a panic, they tried to flee, but the door slammed shut behind them, trapping them in the room. Their screams echoed through the asylum, blending with the chorus of tortured souls that surrounded them.

Hours passed before the authorities finally arrived, drawn by the teenagers' frantic calls for help. When they finally managed to open the door, they found the group huddled together in the corner, pale and trembling with terror.

To this day, the teenagers refuse to speak of what they witnessed in Ravenwood Manor. But those who dare to venture near the abandoned asylum swear they can still hear the echoes of the forgotten, their anguished cries haunting the darkness for all eternity.
