Bible Genesis 4
1And Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain. And she said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord.” 2Then she gave birth to his brother Abel. Abel was a shepherd of sheep, and Cain was a tiller of the land. 3And it came to pass after some days, that Cain offered of the fruits of the land an offering unto the LORD, 4And Abel also offered of the firstlings of his sheep and of their fats. So the Lord looked on Abel and his offering, 5 but he did not look on Cain and his offering. Then Cain became very angry, and his face fell. 6Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why did your face fall? 7If you do well, will you not be exalted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door, and its longing is for you, and you have dominion over it.”
8And Cain spoke to his brother Abel. And it came to pass, while they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” He said: “I don’t know!” Am I my brother's keeper? 10He said, “What have you done?” The voice of your brother's blood is crying out to me from the ground. 11And now you are cursed by the ground that opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. 12When you till the ground, it will no longer give you its strength. You will be a wanderer and a fugitive on the earth.” 13Cain said to the Lord, “My transgression is too great to bear. 14For today you have driven me out from the face of the earth, and from your presence I will be a wanderer and a fugitive in the land, and everyone who finds me will kill me.” 15And the Lord said to him, “Therefore, everyone who kills Cain will be avenged sevenfold.” And the Lord made a mark on Cain, so that no one who found him would kill him. 16So Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
17And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he was building a city, and he called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch. 18And Enoch bore Irad. And Irad begot Mehuiel. And Mehuiel begot Methuseel. And Matthushael begot Lamech. 19And Lamech took two wives for himself: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. 20And Adah gave birth to Jabal, who was the father of those who live in tents and herders. 21And his brother's name was Jubal, who was the father of everyone who played the harp and the flute. 22And Zillah also bore Tubal-cain, a slayer of every instrument of brass and iron. And Tubal-cain's sister was Naamah. 23And Lamech said to his wives Adah and Zillah, “Listen to my voice, O wives of Lamech, and obey my words. For I killed a man for wounding me, and a young man for wounding me. 24Cain will be avenged sevenfold, and Lamech seventy-seven times.”
25And Adam knew his wife also, and she bore a son and called his name Seth, saying, “For God has appointed for me another offspring in the place of Abel.” Because Cain had killed him. 26And to Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. Then he began to call on the name of the Lord.
