Bible Genesis 9
Chapter nine
1And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. 2And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon every creeping thing upon the earth, and upon every fish of the sea. It has been delivered into your hands. 3Every living thing shall be your food. Like green grass I have given you all. 4But you shall not eat any flesh with its life or its blood. 5And I ask for your blood only for your souls. At the hand of every animal I will seek it. And at the hand of man I require the life of man, at the hand of man his brother. 6Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man will his blood be shed. For God made man in his own image. 7So be fruitful and multiply, and multiply in the land and multiply therein.”
8And God spoke to Noah and his sons with him, saying: 9And behold, I will establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you, 10and with every living creature that is with you M: The birds, and the livestock, and every beast of the earth that is with you, from all that come out of the ark, even to every beast of the earth. 11I will establish my covenant with you, and no longer will all flesh be destroyed by the waters of the flood. And there will be no more flood to destroy the land.” 12And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I establish between me and you and every living creature that is with you for generations to eternity: I put my bow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14And it will come to pass, when I spread a cloud over the earth, and the bow appears in the cloud, 15that I will remember my covenant which is between me and you, and between every living soul in all flesh . Then again the waters will not be a flood to destroy all flesh. 16And when the bow is in the cloud, I will see it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living soul in every body on earth.” 17And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have made between me and every living being on the earth.”
18And the sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham is the father of Canaan. 19These three are the sons of Noah. And from these the whole earth branched out.
20And Noah began to be a farmer and planted a vineyard. 21And he drank some of the wine, and became drunk, and was naked in his tent. 22Then Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness and told his brothers outside. 23So Shem and Japheth took the cloak and put it on their shoulders and walked backward, and they covered their father's nakedness with their faces backward. And they did not see their father's nakedness. 24And when Noah awoke from his wine, he knew what his little son had done to him, 25And he said, “Cursed be Canaan! He shall be the servant of his brothers.” 26And he said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem. And Canaan will be their servant. 27May God conquer Japheth and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be their servant.”
28And Noah lived three hundred and fifty years after the flood. 29So all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.
