The Twelfth Failure is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film produced, written and directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra

It is based on the 2019 non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an IPS officer.

In November 2022, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra announced the film based on the novel The Twelfth Failure by Anurag Pathak.

 The film is based on the real life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IPS officer Shraddha Joshi.


In November 2022, Chopra announced that actor Vikrant Massey would play the lead role, marking their first collaboration.

 UPSC coach Vikas Divyakirti has been chosen to play his role on screen. Many real UPSC aspirants have been cast in different roles.

Failure XII received critical acclaim. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, 90% of 10 critics' reviews were positive, with an average rating of 6.8/10.[25]
