The Haunted House on the Edge of the Forest
One day, a man rented a house on the outskirts of the forest. The house had been abandoned for a long time, and no one had lived there. Its owner decided to renovate, repaint, and change the decor before offering it for rent. The man came along and rented it.
He tells his eerie story: "I moved my belongings into the house, and spent the first night there with my wife and children. It was a quiet and peaceful night. Days passed, and we settled in. I was very happy with the house, especially with the beautiful view of the forest, and my children were thrilled with the small garden attached to the house, where they spent their days playing and running around.
I would go to work in the morning and return at night, going to bed early to be ready for work the next day. However, my wife loved staying up late in front of the TV. After a week, she ran to my bed, terrified, her eyes wide with fear, and said that something strange was happening in the house. I asked her what was wrong, and she told me that every night she heard noises in the hallway leading to the kitchen, and sometimes she heard the sounds of children screaming and their feet running around the house. I tried to calm her down and told her it might be the radio or TV. I advised her to pray more and read the Quran to get rid of these strange thoughts. She calmed down a little, and we went to sleep that night.
The next day, I came home late from work, exhausted. When I entered the house, I found my wife sitting in a corner, motionless, her eyes staring blankly, drenched in sweat and shaking. When she came to, she told me that she had seen a woman sitting with her in the living room, talking to her. The woman told her that she and her family had lived in the house for a very long time, and they would never leave. She advised my wife to find another place to live because the house was small and couldn’t fit everyone.
I was shocked by this strange tale. But before I could fully process it, a short man appeared in front of me and said, “We don’t want to harm you or your family, but we are the real residents of this house. We came here long before you did, so we ask that you look for another place to live.” I agreed to leave immediately and started searching for another home. I asked for a month’s time to find a new place for my family, and they agreed, promising not to harm anyone in my family or appear to us again, either day or night. We moved out before the month was over, and never returned."
