(A Journey Towards a Long-Term Goal)

1. Setting the Level and Defining the Goal One of the most important steps in this journey is identifying both the starting point and the destination. Without clarity, beginning any goal becomes a challenge. That’s why self-awareness is essential to start correctly. After defining the goal, the next step is to determine your level—this can be done through a free placement test, such as the one offered by the British Council, which is among the most popular options available.

2. Creating a Plan to Reach the Goal Precision is the foundation of this journey. To stay consistent, it’s best to commit to a clear plan. I’ll share my personal plan, but it doesn’t have to be the same for everyone—our goals may differ. I also recommend using any AI tool to help design a personalized study plan. Simply state your goal and current level, and the tool can suggest a tailored roadmap.

3. Consistency and Overcoming Fear of Failure The reason I started this diary is to keep myself motivated. In the past, I often quit after a short time, making it harder to restart. Each time felt like beginning from zero again, which was discouraging. As Al-Da7ee7 once said, “Don’t wait for the perfect time to start—just start.” That inspired me to launch this series: to begin without hesitation.

4. Purpose of the Diary I want to share my journey in the simplest way possible, so others can also feel encouraged to start. My aim is not to complicate things, but to exchange experiences and make the process beneficial for everyone. I’m not an expert in writing or describing, but I hope this diary helps me improve those skills while documenting my progress. If someone benefits from it, that would make me truly happy.

5. My Plan and Reason for Starting After identifying my level, I turned to AI tools for guidance. Here’s the simple daily plan I’m following (about 45 minutes):

15 minutes Listening: Listen to a short B1 clip, understand the main idea, then replay with the transcript.

10 minutes Vocabulary: Learn 5–8 words, each used in a sentence related to my work. Example: customer — I always try to understand the customer’s needs.

10 minutes Speaking: Speak aloud on one topic for 1–2 minutes, even if I make mistakes.

10 minutes Grammar: Focus on one grammar point and apply it in speech.

The goal of this plan is to prepare myself for job opportunities where English is required. My level isn’t bad, but forming sentences fluently is still a challenge.

6. Weekly Evaluation I’ll share weekly reflections on what I did, what helped me, and any useful resources I found. I’ll also rate my progress to keep track. Hopefully, this diary will be valuable not only for me but also for anyone who wants to join this journey.
