Once upon a time there was a small village nestled in a valley, surrounded by tall mountains and lush forests. The villagers were peaceful and happy, living off the land and taking care of each other. 
One day, an adventurous young boy named Jack decided to explore the nearby forest. He had heard tales of strange creatures and magical places, and he wanted to see them for himself. So, he set off into the woods with nothing but a bag of apples and a stick for protection.
Jack wandered deeper and deeper into the forest until he came across a clearing with a small cottage in the center. He cautiously approached it, only to find that it was inhabited by an old woman and her two cats. The woman welcomed Jack into her home and shared some of her food with him. 
Jack stayed with the old woman for several days, learning about the forest and its inhabitants. He discovered that the forest was full of magical creatures, such as fairies, elves, and even dragons! He also learned about the powerful magic that resided within the forest itself. 
One day, as Jack was exploring further into the woods, he stumbled across a hidden cave. Inside he found an ancient dragon sleeping peacefully among piles of gold and jewels. Jack was both terrified and amazed at this sight, but he managed to stay calm enough to approach the dragon cautiously. 
The dragon awoke suddenly and spoke to Jack in a deep voice: "You have been brave enough to enter my cave, so I will grant you three wishes." Jack thought carefully before making his wishes: he wished for an endless supply of food for his village; he wished for peace between all creatures in the forest; and finally he wished for a way to protect his village from any danger that may arise in the future.
